About Monsooned Malabar

Coffee Variety - AA Arabica Beans Post-Harvest Process - Unwashed, Monsooned Roast Level - Medium - Light Roast Region - Chikmagalur, Karnataka Monsooned Malabar - A Unique Specialty Coffee from India. The arabica beans from Chikmagalur are transported to Mangalore, a coastal city in India. During the monsoon season, the beans absorb moisture from the coastal winds, causing them to swell and develop a pale yellow color. This process results in some of the most distinctive flavors found in coffee. This unique Indian practice has gained global recognition, and we are delighted to offer it to discerning coffee lovers in India. Quick answers on how Monsooned Malabar tastes, brews, and where it comes from.

Coffee Q&A

Bili Hu's tasting notes for Monsooned Malabar lean toward Buttery, Dates, Earthy and Jaggery. Flavor is subjective and shifts with roast freshness, grind size, and brew method, so your cup may vary.

Monsooned Malabar is a single-origin coffee, sourced from one origin rather than blended, so it reflects the character of that specific place.

Monsooned Malabar is suggested for Aeropress, Espresso, French Press, Moka Pot and Pour Over. As a rule of thumb: espresso needs a fine grind, pour-over and drip a medium grind, and French press or cold brew a coarse grind. Dial in from there to taste.
