About Moss Theory

Moss Theory grows wild. Produced by Pranoy at Kerehaklu Estate, this rare SLN 9 peaberry undergoes a Mossto extended anoxic natural process, building a cup that is intensely fruity, syrupy and layered without losing its clarity. As a filter, it opens with juicy golden mango and pink guava, followed by a bright raspberry-nectar finish. On espresso, the profile becomes deeper and sweeter, bringing wildflower honey, berry preserve and a lingering cacao-nib finish. Vibrant enough for adventurous brewers, yet balanced enough to keep coming back to. This is Indian specialty coffee at its most expressive. Limited roast-to-order release. Allow the coffee to rest before brewing for its full fruit character to open up.

Coffee Q&A

Broot Coffee's tasting notes for Moss Theory lean toward Berry Preserve, Cacao Nib, Golden Mango and Pink Guava. Flavor is subjective and shifts with roast freshness, grind size, and brew method, so your cup may vary.

Moss Theory is a single-origin coffee, sourced from one origin rather than blended, so it reflects the character of that specific place.

Moss Theory is suggested for Espresso and Filter. As a rule of thumb: espresso needs a fine grind, pour-over and drip a medium grind, and French press or cold brew a coarse grind. Dial in from there to taste.
