About Ārabhi

Our smash hit organic arabica is back with even more complexity this season! Grown and processed at the extremely biodiverse Narmada estate, Chikmagalur; this certified organic arabica has gone through a closely monitored wet ferment for 36 hours post pulping. Afterwards, the coffee is washed thoroughly to remove the left over mucilage and dried slowly. The result of this careful processing is a delightfully complex cup that brims with a very distinct acidity that reminds us of apricot and passion fruit. This is wonderfully balanced with a praline-esque like nuttiness and reminds or roaster of the rāga ārabhi. Ārabhi the coffee is a delight across all manual brews 8 days post date of roast. It also makes for a crisp espresso shot 18 days post date of roast. We thank South India coffee company for introducing us to this hidden gem and we hope to continue working with them for years to come!

Coffee Q&A

Kapi Kottai's tasting notes for Ārabhi lean toward Apricot, Nuttiness, Passion Fruit and Praline. Flavor is subjective and shifts with roast freshness, grind size, and brew method, so your cup may vary.

Ārabhi is a single-origin coffee, sourced from one origin rather than blended, so it reflects the character of that specific place.

Ārabhi is suggested for Espresso. As a rule of thumb: espresso needs a fine grind, pour-over and drip a medium grind, and French press or cold brew a coarse grind. Dial in from there to taste.
