About Melkodige- Indian Geisha

Grown at 4,200 ft on Melkodige Estate in Chikkamagaluru, this rare single estate Arabica is one of India's few Geisha (Selection 9) lots — a varietal prized globally for its delicate, tea-like elegance. We process it using a Kenyan-style washed method with sequential anoxic fermentation to bring out its most expressive notes. The cup is intensely floral and fruity — fragrant lychee, delicate honey sweetness, and a lifted orange blossom aroma that makes this one of the most fragrant coffees in our lineup. Medium roasted to preserve its delicate character, this coffee is best brewed as pour-over or AeroPress and should be had black to fully experience its rare Geisha complexity. If you're searching for Indian Geisha coffee or rare single estate Arabica from Chikkamagaluru, Karnataka, this limited microlot is as close as it gets to India's answer to Panama Geisha.

Coffee Q&A

El Bueno Coffee's tasting notes for Melkodige- Indian Geisha lean toward Honey, Lychee and Orange Blossom. Flavor is subjective and shifts with roast freshness, grind size, and brew method, so your cup may vary.

Melkodige- Indian Geisha is a single-origin coffee, sourced from one origin rather than blended, so it reflects the character of that specific place.

Melkodige- Indian Geisha is suggested for Aeropress and Pour Over. As a rule of thumb: espresso needs a fine grind, pour-over and drip a medium grind, and French press or cold brew a coarse grind. Dial in from there to taste.
