On the steep, rocky slopes of Degu Gasarapalli in Hukumpeta, Oranaini Apparao cultivates coffee at 1,170 metres, where elevation, soil and shade come together to shape a slower, more deliberate harvest. Under a canopy of silver oak trees, the cherries ripen gradually, allowing sugars to develop with care — resulting in a coffee that carries both structure and clarity. Through selective harvesting and consistent farm practices, the focus has shifted towards quality, where each lot reflects not just the land, but the discipline behind it. For this release, the cherries are naturally processed, dried with the fruit intact to enhance sweetness and build a rounded body. This process, combined with the density developed at higher elevation, creates a cup that feels full yet never heavy — a balance that becomes especially important in warmer months. In the cup, mandarin brightness and red apple freshness bring a clean, lifted quality that keeps the coffee vibrant and easy to return to, while a base of chocolate and cocoa adds depth without overwhelming the palate. A gentle cashew-like creaminess softens the texture, and a subtle finish of dark greens and pepper adds quiet complexity. It is this balance — between brightness and depth, sweetness and structure — that makes the coffee naturally suited to the season. Whether brewed as a crisp pour-over or a smooth cold brew, it remains composed, expressive and refreshing, reflecting how terroir, process and craft come together in a cup designed for summer.
