Tipsy Rascal is a tribute to coffee’s wild side. Crafted from Excelsa—a coffee species entirely distinct from both Arabica and Robusta—this release throws convention out the window. Once considered a curiosity, Excelsa is rapidly emerging as one of the most exciting frontiers in specialty coffee, captivating producers, processors and roasters with a flavour spectrum unlike anything else. Bold, expressive and delightfully unpredictable, it invites us to rethink what coffee can be. This lot is produced through the South India Coffee Company (SICC) Community, a collaborative initiative that brings together growers across Coorg with a shared commitment to quality and experimentation. Cherries from multiple producers are processed at Mooleh Manay Estate using a structured, data-driven approach that highlights the unique potential of Excelsa while celebrating the diversity of Coorg’s terroir. The cup is unapologetically untamed—layering exotic florals, tropical fruit, dark rum, toddy-like complexity, creamy macadamia richness and a lingering funky sweetness into an experience that is equal parts fascinating and unforgettable.
