Perched 4,000 feet above sea level, Melkodige Estate is nestled within the tranquil mountain ranges of the Kudremukh Bio Reserve, situated in the Western Ghats—one of the world’s top ten biodiversity hotspots. At this elevation, Arabica coffee beans mature at a relaxed pace, allowing for the cultivation of the exquisite flavors that coffee connoisseurs cherish. Presently, this eco-friendly plantation, renowned for producing high-quality pure coffee, is expertly managed by horticulturists Aveen and Yogitha Rodrigues. Melkodige Estate is home to exclusive heirloom varieties such as Sln 9, Sln 795, Sln 6, and Sln 5, alongside a selection of dwarf varieties like Chandragiri, HDT, Catimor, and Obatã. The estate employs diverse processing methods to craft its coffee, including fermented washed coffee, anaerobic fermented coffee, aerobic fermented coffee, yeast fermented coffee, and pulp sun-dried coffee. Each batch is professionally Q-graded to ensure the highest quality.
