The Roaster's Story

Kruti Coffee is a Bhubaneswar-based specialty coffee venture founded in 2013 with a strong social impact focus, built around the revival and long-term development of tribal coffee farms in Kindiriguda, Odisha. Established by professionals including a Specialty Coffee Association–trained roaster, the brand works closely with growers to improve farm management, harvesting practices and post-harvest processing, positioning itself as a farm-to-cup operation that maintains specialty standards across cultivation, roasting and brewing. Its portfolio includes single-origin Indian coffees and blends identified by region, roast level and flavour profile, with in-house roasting introduced to ensure consistency and quality control. Fair trade principles and livelihood support for farming communities form a central part of the model, alongside premium purchase commitments and technical guidance at the farm level. Beyond retail coffee, Kruti has developed a growing network of specialty cafés designed to introduce a wider audience to origin-focused Indian coffees and a more structured specialty coffee experience.
