ICB Fortnight 8 · 11 Jul 2026
128 new lots and an experimental streak.
Hello,
Welcome to Fortnight 8. The last two weeks were busy on the shelves. Several roasters cleared out old runs and dropped fresh seasonal lots, so 128 new coffees landed on the directory, a good number of them anaerobic, carbonic, and natural ferments.
Two new roasters joined, and our top raters now have a home on the front page. As always, hit reply and tell us what you're drinking.

What's New on ICB
This fortnight leaned heavy on new coffee. 128 fresh lots came in as roasters like Coffeeverse, Nandan, Hill Groove, and FiveFarms retired older runs and released new seasonal ones. Processing split almost evenly between natural and washed, 23 each, with a clear experimental streak alongside: 18 anaerobic, 9 experimental, and 6 carbonic maceration lots. Two roasters also joined the directory.

Gold Light Roast
Nandan Coffee · Light roast · Natural / Washed · Blend · Limited
The bag open on my shelf right now. I tried this at Nandan's cafe in Bangalore on a recent trip and liked it enough to carry a bag home, even with a decent stash already in the freezer. It's a limited seasonal blend of Hawaiian Red Caturra and S-9 arabica, part natural and part washed, light and lively with crisp acidity and bright fruit. Nandan says it works black or with a dash of milk, which ties neatly into the question we ask lower down.

Bermito Coffee Roasters
Kozhikode, Kerala
A Kozhikode roastery built around rare single-origin nano-lots and experimental fermentations, released in small seasonal batches. SCA-certified, they treat each release as a limited, unrepeatable lot and run community cupping events across Kerala, celebrating Kerala-grown and Southeast Asian origins. Good timing, given how much experimental coffee landed this fortnight.

July's monthly recommendations thread
The pinned July thread turned into a real debate: are pour-over-grade single origins wasted in milk, or are milk drinkers better served by blends built for it? Araku, Blue Tokai, and Third Wave all got named.

Baba Budangiri Coffee: What the Label Actually Tells You
A highland sub-range inside Chikmagalur at 1,000–1,500 m, with a 2019 GI tag and a reputation as India's original coffee origin. ICB lists 121 coffees under the label, which signals estate-level traceability rather than a single cup profile.

Question for you

When you buy a single-origin, do you drink it black to taste the notes it was picked for, or does it end up in milk anyway?
It's the argument that lit up r/IndiaCoffee's July thread. Just hit reply and tell us where you land. We read every one.
